Things to Do

Explore the beauties of the Kauri Coast while you’re here and get a taste of the real New Zealand rural lifestyle!

GOLF

The Northern Wairoa 18 hole golf course is only 15 minutes away. Visitors are always welcome and a shuttle to and from the course is available.

KAI IWI LAKES

You can have a great day out at the lakes, swimming, jet skiing, wind surfing or have a barbeque and relax on the fine white sand surrounding the lake.

BEACHES & FISHING

The longest beach in New Zealand offers great walks and awesome fishing (catch your fish and cook it on the beach or we’ll cook it for you at Kaurivale).

HORSE TREKS

We can organise treks along the beach or exploring the local countryside. See the Kauri Coast from a different perspective!!

FARMING AND FARM TOURS

Meet the locals and talk farming or join in everyday farming activities. If you’re interested in looking at property to buy, we can introduce you to the local Real Estate people.

SUNSET/SUNRISE (Weather permitting)

The sun rising and setting is something that happens everyday and for the most part we all take it for granted. But just watching the sun rise or set is a very special part of the day and a special moment in time. The West Coast of Northland offers wonderful opportunities to watch the sun set over the Tasman. Imagine – sunset, sea, beach, blankets, glasses of wine, some good food and great company. A wonderful end to a memorable day.

If you’re really keen you could see the sun rise through the mist from Kaurivale the next morning.

WALKING TRACKS

There are various walking tracks on the Kaipara Coast.
