Kaurivale. We bought Kaurivale in 2003 with the idea of developing it into Bed and Breakfast-Farmstay Accommodation. The house is ideally suited to it, beautiful location, very spacious and it was only a few minutes down the road from our main farming operation.![]()
We have now completed seven seasons now and have had guests from all over the world and New Zealand. Many of them keep in touch with us regularly which is great. They all enjoy the peaceful surroundings, the friendly atmosphere and many of them take the time to join us on a tour through to the beach etc. a little tiki tour that they wouldn’t be able to make in their own vehicles.![]()
We have a few friendly cows here for guests to feed and pet if they wish. The children can help feed the chooks and Paddy the dog is always willing to accept more attention.
Moremonui is a larger drystock farm on the coast. Rolling coastal country, lighter soils very easy for winter management. Some winters we may experience a little ground frost in some lower areas, but on the whole, we think it is a wonderful place to farm. Formerly a beef and sheep farm, we are now running mostly dairy heifers and dry cows.![]()
